1. Why is understanding physics and the general rules of the universe so important in doing philosophy?
According to the video, the history of philosophy, it gives us a lot of meaningful questions to ask our self. such as who are we, how should one conduct ourselves, and we are here why? There are a bunch of broad areas that are looked at by philosophers, that can be taken to great lengths, and thoughts that may be so far out, one might be left perplexed. The video states that the Philosophers funnel arguments, and i think physics may play a big role in philosophy due to the coming to the end answer, and it being it, final answer, no other way about philosophy.
2. What is Eliminative Materialism?
Eliminative Materialism is when a phenomenon cannot properly be understood, that one turns to , biology, physics, chemistry, psychology, and last but not least sociology. According to the video, if one of those can not determine outcome, one might say it is because of 'God'. Part two of the eliminative materialism video, talks about new found theories in the anatomy, central nervous systems, and eliminated the gods and spirits. I basically grasped that this was basically the 'new age thinking', versus the old way of thinking and learning.
