Why is understanding physics and the general rules of the universe so important in doing philosophy?
Understanding physics and the general rues of the universe are confusing and a little hard to comprehend. But it is important to take the time to understand both when it comes to philosophy, understanding that everything in the universe and our world today is made of matter, knowing that that is how our universe works. Its important to understand that, as stated in "Is the Universe Really made of Tiny Rubber Bands" Richard Feynman said, "Things are made up of little things that jiggle'. This puts physics and things into one sentences, matter is made up of tiny atoms that jiggle. You have to know and understand how and what everything started from, and where everything came from.
What is eliminative materialism? Provide three examples of it.
Eliminative materialism is you eliminate one thing because it is improved to better terminology and better out dated concepts. How time evolves and what was talked about before is replaced with something that is new and fresh. For example back in the day they talked about Thor, and now whats talked about is electrical magnetic currency, another example, how instead of talking about tiny ghost in anatomy pulling a certain muscle we talk about a central nervous system and last we have gone from talking about sports are the causes of diseases, we now talk about bacteria and viruses. Over time we have eliminated the old for new more precise material (Eliminated Materialism part two video). Eliminated Materialism is reason written out.
