1. why is understanding physics and the general rules of the universe so important in doing philosophy?
It is so important to understand physics and the general rules of the universe in doing philosophy. It plays a big role in understanding philosophy. Due to the fact that term Philosophy refers to the understanding of reason, reality and existence. Whereas does physics is the branch of science concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy. They both go hand in hand in a sense. They completely relate to one another to understand the rules of the universe. This is relevant in In the reading Quantum Weirdness it states " The history of science is a record of how man achieved such acclimations and how in turn such new insights transformed his understanding of how the universe actually works". By this it shows that through learning of physics and the understanding of the universe helped to gain new insights of the universe hence philosophy.

Eliminative materialism is is a materialist position in the philosophy of mind. Its primary claim is that peoples common understanding of the mind is false and that certain classes of mental states that most people believe in do not exist. For example according to the video Eliminative materialism: God did it? "If a phenomenon cannot be explained and comprehended fully by mathematics the one turns to physics then chemistry then to biology then to sociology, if it still cannot be explained, "god did it". This is what eliminative materalism really stands for. If people cannot understand it than it must have been from some supernatural force.
