2. Why is there a conflict (for some) between science and religion?
There is a conflict between science and religion because both have foundation, evidence, and concepts differently. Science is based on hypothesis and experiment to get the result of the research in order to know more about this world. However, religion is based on the bible, which requires people to believe undoubtedly. Science is more likely to play an active role to know more about the world while religion plays the passive role. Also, both of them have evidence to prove themselves. Science has a lot of research methods to be its evidence such as naturalistic observation, correlation, and experiments. Religion has its bible to be its evidence. People have evidence to believe what they want to believe. Like “The Great Mystery” said, “matter itself was and is as mysterious and as glorious as anything conjured up in our spiritual imaginations”. There are limitation to scientists that make them cannot explain everything in the world because the world is mysterious and glorious. For the religion, it can explain simply because of God, but they cannot prove it. Lastly, both science and religion have their own concepts towards one thing. For example, you win the lottery today. In the science field, scientists will say that you are fortunate. In the religion field, they will say that this is a note from God and God will assign you do something using the prize. They are entirely conflict to each other because scientists believe on evidence and proving only and religionists believe in the bible only, which are the words of God. That’s why there is a conflict between science and religion for a long time.
