1. Why was Socrates sentenced to death?
Socrates was sentenced to death because people believed that he influenced the minds of young adults of his beliefs that the people believed to be wicked and corrupt. They people also felt that Socrates had different beliefs than they did and did not believe in the same kind of god as the people did. So they took him to trial and sentenced him to death.
2. Why is there a conflict (for some) between science and religion?
Theres a conflict between science and religion because science is not like math where you put in the certain equations and it will always work itself out and have an answer. Meanings of things in science always change it is never the same, redefined. Scientist are always trying to discover new things and test theories that have already been discovered, where religionist are taught one thing and that one thing is what they believe there is no other explanation or answer. They do not try to prove otherwise or try to rediscover because thats not in their beliefs.
Introduction
My name is Kalena Lino. I am 21 years old. I work at the Santa Ana Observatory Concert Venue. I went to Mt Sac for two years and then transferred to La Sierra University. I came back to Mt Sac because i could not afford to go to a private school. I hope to transfer out by next semester. My favorite things to do are spend time with my family and hang out with my small group of friends. I use to play volleyball at mt sac and la sierra and stopped playing this past year. I have a twin sister and an older brother, Marley and Massela. I come from a big family and I love them all very much.
