1. Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
Yes I believe can be a significant problem in the future. The fact that computers or robots can make decisions is terrifying. As humans we use all our senses and emotions to make decisions. We make choices that are appropriate to our beliefs sometime our choices are even irrational but appropriate. I don’t thing computerized technology will ever be able to make decisions like a living being. Artificial intelligence will only make decisions based on what is mathematically computed as correct, something that can be dangerous. I do see benefits but they do not outweigh the possible dangers that come with allowing unloving things to make decisions based on what it thinks is appropriate.
2. How has technology impacted your life?
I use Technology every day. I wake up to the sound of my iPhone. I check the news and weather on my phone to determine my days attire. My car is connected to the internet and even has a monitor that shows my apps. I cannot travel out of my comfort zone without turning on the navigation system in my car. At work most of my job is based on computer software and is the main souce of communicating with clients all over the world. I receive day to day messages on the Class Dojo app my daughter teacher uses and I know her behavior for the day. Technology is important and I understand how it alleviates many obstacles, but I do miss the time where the only phone available was connected to a cord and no one brought technology to dinner. The fact that I can be traced frightens and provides me with security. Technology is here to make lives easier and I do believe that it has made people much more capable to take on much more difficult tasks but my daughter generation will not see the beauty in doing simple tasks because they may not know how.
