Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
I personally do not believe that artificial intelligence will be a problem in our future because I do not believe it will cause the human era to come to an end as many do believe. I think that when it comes to things such as cars it could be used to our advantage. For example, Toyota invested $1 Billion into researching ways artificial intelligence can improve their cars such as automatic breaking or turning. That to me is the future and it makes me excited but at the same time nervous because no matter how “intelligent” it may be at the end of the day it is artificial and perhaps it will never be able to think as fast as the human brain when put in a tricky situation. The closest thing I personally have in my life to artificial intelligence is Siri on the iPhone, yes with each iOS upgrade she become more convenient and consistent but she always lacks something and I’m sure in 30 years technology will be so advanced our kids will be laughing at our “smart” phones, but we wont know how intelligent until we get there.
2. How has technology impacted your life?
Technology has impacted my life in so many ways that if it where taken from me I would feel completely lost because it’s all I have been brought up to know. For example, I remember being younger and my dad would take us to up north, down south, to the left and to the right and I never paid much attention on how well he was at reading a map until one day when I started driving I asked him the easiest way to get to Big Sur and when he tried explaining it to me I was so lost. I then input the address into my phone on the Mapps application and it all became so simple. There has been many situations in my life that have proven to me how dependent I am on technology and its actually pretty sad.
