1. Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
First of all, for artificial intelligence to get to the point of where it may or may be a problem in the future it would have to surpass the capabilities of the human brain. I do not think it would ever get to this point because that would mean creating artificial intelligence that is smarter than the smartest human being. But, if it does get to this point it will be a problem. People already do not like humans that are smarter than they are, but if a machine was smarter than they were this would be a huge problem. There would be rebellion, revolution and probably some sort of war leading into mass casualties. Also, these questions about predicting the future of something that will not happen in my life time are foolish, because why should I care about wasting my time thinking about something that is not going to affect me.
2. How has technology impacted your life?
How technology has affected one’s life is something most people do not think about. Well for first of all, I would not be able to take this class I am taking right now from the comfort of my home or typing this response on my computer. I cannot say with certainty that technology has had an overwhelming positive or negative affect on my life. But, what it has done is allowed me to help save lives. During my time in the Air Force as an Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Technician I maintained reconnaissance aircraft. There was many times where my ability to think on my toes and react quickly allowed me to repair an aircraft just in time that it collected intelligence to stop an attack, warn people about an attack, or discover IED’s. Without going in the politics of the war, there will always be war, it is in human nature and with that there is always a need for technology and with that technology I was able to save lives.
