sites.google.com/a/student.mtsac.edu/jess-phil5/week-7-and1. Explain the virtual simulation theory of consciousness. The virtual simulation theory of consciousness is the mind putting itself in a virtual reality that makes the mind believe things are real when they in fact they aren't. Our mind allows us to think about things and visualize consequences before our actions. we can see and touch something and it will appear different in our mind. 2. How does the brain trick us and for what benefit is it for our genetic survival? The brain can trick us by making us think before we act. Our brain is always going, even when we are sleeping, we are thinking. This is why we dream. Our brain can also help us go into survival mode allowing us to do things we didn't think we could do in order to survive.
