1. Why is the theory of evolution so important in understanding how human beings behave?
Reading Darwin’s Dangerous Idea: Evolution and the Meanings of Life by Daniel Dennett in the book The DNA of Consciousness by Professor Andrea Diem-Lane really helped me understand evolution a little better and why is the theory of evolution so important in understanding how human beings behave. Darwin’s theory of evolution was that we don’t just evolve physically but we also evolve neurological. My understanding is that the mind evolves as time passes so we can adapt to the way of living. The theory of evolution is also important because it helps us understand why human beings behave the way they do and evolution shows us how we have changed as time has passed and human beings have evolved. This helps us learn where we came from and how and why we are the way we are at this point in time. Evolution also explains how it influences human being behaviors and how human beings are able to accommodate to it as it continues from generation to generation.
2. Which questions do you think evolutionary theory cannot answer?
I think there is a lot of questions evolution can’t answer simply because evolutionary theory doesn’t answer to the whole world. Darwin’s DNA explains how there is a difference between theory and evolution. According to what was said in the video is that science is based off of questions already answered. There is an explanation to it. As to religion it is what is believed. There isn’t an exact explanation to things. I think evolution can’t answer if there really is a god? If so then who made god? Who was here before god? Or who was created first Adam and Eve or Dinosaurs? Were they around at the same time? Or even something as simple as what came first the chicken or the egg? There still isn’t an answer to that, No one has been able to answer that simple question and I wonder will there ever be an answer? I really want to know what came first the chicken or the egg.
