1. Why is the theory of evolution so important in understanding how human beings behave?
Through evolution we get a better understanding of the human behavior that has evolved over time and the reason why is is important. This is concurrent through the readings of the videos that were required to have been read. Where it shows us that Human beings change over time according to their surroundings and thus affecting their children as well as themselves. These changes that take place are a complete resemblment of the theory of natural selection. What natural selection explains is that the survival of fittest is what survives. We weak are weeded out while the fittest survive. By this understanding it portrays that the behavior is a complete resemblement of the natural selection theory as well as time and surroundings from which they occur that than are what effect behavior.
2. Which questions do you think evolutionary theory cannot answer?
I think the questions that evolutionary theory cant answer is that of our predominant origins really. As well as the need for two sexes for instance why couldn't we just be creatures whom just split and become into two beings. According the the DNA of consciousness it explains that “Our brains didn’t evolve to understand the universe but to literally “eat” it.” The book also states that “we don’t know the truth; we simply know what it takes for us to live skillfully enough so that we don’t get eaten too young.” These two quotes are wonderful. They explain that we are creatures constantly evolving to understand. We were not born with this knowledge we learn by experience. As well as the fact of knowing what we need to survive. Evolutionary theory cannot answer all the questions of of evolution due to the fact that the theory has only evolved so far.
