1. Why is the theory of evolution so important in understanding how human beings behave?
The evolution of theory is so important because it can explain the continuing evolution of our species physically and mentally. By natural selection, the theory of evolution In accordance with the video, Evolution explained in four minutes and the book, The DNA of consciousness explains how Charles Darwin’s theory of Variation, Inheritance, Selection and Time equal our design and it helps explain not only why we behave the way that we do, but; why we look the way that we look and as per the example of Shaun in our book, it can help explain the architecture of our brain. Our consciousness is a virtual stimulator and that is why our bodies have survived through many environments and that is why it has been so helpful to us. Our consciousness developed through natural selection. Natural Selection is the fittest of the fittest as to say, because for billions of years, we have continued to evolve into the unique species that we have each become. We behave the way that we do because of our DNA, our CTAG is written for us uniquely, each with our own recipe, and because of evolution, we behave the way that we behave, and we look the way that we look. Although many will continue to believe that we emerged from Adam and Eve, natural selection explains that through evolution, we have slowly evolved into who we are today. Some survived, some didn’t, and we should all consider ourselves fortunate for being here. The theory of evolution can help explain how we became who we are and why we are what we have become.
2. Which questions do you think evolutionary theory cannot answer?
Although there are many theories as to why we have or have developed a conscious, I don’t think we will ever have a true answer. I don’t think the question of “why” will ever be answered. There’s no way of testing “why”. “Why” is philosophy, not physics. If our conscious is a lie, a film, and it is unreliable, then how could we ever possibly have an answer and know for sure what’s real and what isn’t. If we are living in an illusion, then how could you possibly differentiate reality from a dream state. We don’t know when our consciousness began and when it started to evolve, we only know that somewhere, somehow, we have it, and the closest species to us, the chimpanzees do not. Why are we so unique? Why is there no one else like us? Why do we speak, and why don’t the chimpanzees? Why is our brain so much more advanced than any other species on this planet? I don’t think we will ever be able to have a true answer as to why we are the only species to have a conscious.
